Hi darling! Welcome to the my journal, my journey about my real life, my heart and my travels photographing beautiful souls! Sit back, have cup of tea and stay for a while and be sure to say hello!
You know that spot in your house where things are exploding out of it like a pair of too small spanx after the holidays? YEAH, THAT ONE. I was laying in bed on Sunday thinking about that. space
There’s a closet by our front door that when the kids open it they fall into a rabbit hole of forgotten dreams and old Halloween candy wrappers. They must get lost for days and days because when they emerge, they leave the closet with only one shoe to mark their journey and the other gets eaten or something. (WHY IS THERE ONE OF EACH SHOE IN THERE?)
That closet? It got cleaned. Why do you ask? BECAUSE I STARTED WATCHING TIDYING UP and I can’t stop. I thought “Oh here let me just watch one episode” and before I know it I was hugging my clothes thanking them…
And now? OUR ENTIRE HOUSE IS GETTING COMPLETELY DONE. (We are on step 4 and OMG LIFE IS CHANGED but help us! You can hear all about our journey HERE on the podcast because OMG the TEA IS HOT! Wait till tomorrow where I talk about Andre and my argument…EEK!
How did Marie inspire us to do this? She came in through our TV and convinced us we weren’t living our best lives and now our clothes are folded in rolls and our shoe closet doesn’t eat children. Yes, the spark joy, OMG-NETFLIX-BINGE-Tidying up our life master has done more than just lead us through her methods she develope a personal brand that is the stuff that DREAMS (and joy) are made of.
So here’s what we can learn from her personal brand mastery:
1.) She knows her ideal client
Marie works with one type of person: someone who is ready and wants to make a positive change in their lives. She doesn’t try and convince people who might not be ready for her but she works with the ones that are.
2.) She knows her why
Marie is on a mission that clearly excites her. She has found what excites her and channeled that into how she can impact the world She considered her interests, what she was naturally great at, and how she wanted to help others and now she has us all “choosing Joy.”
3.) She knows how she helps
Marie has a very clear focus in her brand. I’m SURE she could do many other things but she has kept her focus on what excites her and how she wants to help. This makes her stand out as an industry expert PLUS makes her personal brand that much more powerful!
4.) She is consistent in her brand communication
From the moment she comes into someone’s home she consistently communicating that her mission is to help people tidy and create spaces that spark joy. She is consistent in her way of describing her process across all platforms including her website, instagram, Netflix show and more! She has built her personal brand on joy and does not waver.
5.) Her visual brand supports her brand mission
Marie wears white. Wonder why? She said that white is most often associated with being clean, thus she initially chooses a color that supports her brand and her mission. (She also said she chooses to wear skirts because pants stopped sparking joy for her a few years ago.)
So now that we are pumped up with joy and excited about throwing out old towels, let’s take some time to consider how we can bring these master techniques of communicative bliss into our own personal brands.
Happy branding & JOYFUL tidying!
Julie
Great article, Julie! She clearly knows her “why” and communicates it sincerely.
